Pacific Biodiesel’s first refinery, opened in 1999 and located at the Central Maui Landfill, is the longest continually operated biodiesel production plant in the U.S. Originally built to process 200,000 gallons per year, the facility operates mostly on used cooking oil, and will expand to meet the growing demand for biodiesel on the Valley Isle.
